Patrick Tournebœuf
Kimberly #96
Total add-ons:
Kimberley. The discovery, in 1867, of a large diamond caused the appearance of a city. We are in the middle of the Great Karoo Desert, at an altitude of 1,230 meters in the Northern Cape province. Since then, the settlers have given way to tourists and diamonds are no longer found. Patrick Tourneboeuf walked the streets and squares of the city center and its limits, its suburbs, the stadium, the cemetery, questioning the aesthetic and sociological issues of photography. This project was carried out as part of Transition , a collective photographic mission led by French and South African photographers in South Africa on the occasion of the 2012-2013 France-South Africa season, and organized by Les Rencontres d 'Arles, and the Market Photoworkshop.
