Marine Lanier
Hannibal's Garden #10
Coming from a family of horticulturists and sailors, Marine Lanier focuses her research on questions of life, clan structure, bonds and the call of adventure. His approach is part of the documentary fable or even “magical realism”. She explores shady, inaccessible places, where danger and mystery hover. The question of story and metamorphosis underlies all of his work; it is often the invention of an individual destiny divided within the rituals of a group. His visual approach is sensory and immersive. She uses the light of the eclipse, the symbols, the monochromes close to the color of dreams, of astonishment, which transport us towards a reversal of the values of this world.
