Fatoumata Diabaté
Man as object/animal #11
The idea of "Man as object / Man as animal" is linked to the stories and tales that Fatoumata Diabaté heard in her childhood and remain very present in her mind today. These are stories “designed for the black child” as Senghor said. For these photographs she draws inspiration from stories that are in her head and then creates objects to serve these stories. Like dreams, but which function as moral lessons, stories which teach us how to behave in life. Which helps us understand what awaits us, what can happen.
