Ao Ba #1
The Japanese call it Ao Ba, the blue leaf. A very nice name for a simple tarpaulin. To detect this subtle expression of the Japanese soul through the life of a plastic tarpaulin, one undoubtedly needed an external eye predisposed to this kind of poetic reading of the world. Gifted with sensitivity and humor, the photographer Bertrand Desprez allowed himself to be surprised during his numerous travels in the Japanese archipelago by these astonishing blue traces, sometimes to the point of letting them guide his steps and orient his journey in unforeseen directions.
