The anonymous photographs that Sylvie Meunier collects and the close relationship she maintains with literature form the privileged materials of her work. Mister K. is a “photographic novel” where images and textual incises alternate. Genres mingle to create a unique work: part photo book, part literary story, part cinematic fiction, part psychological investigation… A road movie with an atmosphere that is part thriller, part auto fiction which takes the reader into one universe at the same time strange and familiar, that of an America of the Beat Generation, of a golden age of Hollywood film noir.
